After making the decision to have vision correction, you simply schedule your evaluation and/or treatment date. You will then receive pre-op instructions. Contact lenses patients...you have homework...removal of contacts prior to the evaluation:
| Standard Soft lenses: | 2 weeks prior to exam |
| Toric Soft Lenses: | 2 weeks prior to exam |
| Gas Permeable or Hard Lenses: | Minimum of 3 weeks per decade worn |
Corneal Mapping
Refractive Evaluation: This evaluation will assess your ocular health, determine your candidacy, plus discuss your expected outcome based on your prescription, age, and your vision needs. This information is vital so your doctor can calculate your laser energy. We will then provide you with written pre- and post-operative care instructions.
Vision Correction Procedure: Invite a friend or relative, they can view the procedure and share in your excitement; besides, you'll need someone to drive you home. But, you won't need a driver for long! Most patients drive, return to work, and resume most activities the next day. Don't forget...patients do experience fluctuations of vision, occasional blurring, nighttime glare, and or dryness in their eyes. Don't worry...these will diminish as your new vision stabilizes. If you feel you have an emergency...you'll have the office and an emergency telephone number.
We can't wait for you to SEE us for your 1 day post-op visit. Patients typically driving themselves into the office. To ensure proper healing and maximum long-term results, you will be seen by a refractive optometrist regularly.
